Aria Charles

Aria Charles is a Queer Black Woman, multi-disciplinary artist and writer from Oakland, CA. She has been involved in the arts since she was a child, doing everything from print modeling, choir, a capella, dance, voice-over, theater, and acting for film & TV. She received Bachelor’s degrees in both English Literature and Legal Studies from Northwestern University where she examined the art of using language in an attempt to capture the essence of extremely large concepts, such as society, the mind, the supernatural, and human emotion. She learned that language often fails to hold the multitude of what IS. Yet, she continues the attempt, as all writers must.

Aria’s work explores the intersection between the magic of nature and the laws of physics. She believes magic is just unexplained science, and science is just explained magic, and that understanding how something works, does not make it any less magical. The focus of her work is exposing the inherent everyday magical reality in our surroundings through the study of quantum physics and how humans relate to the natural world on the level of frequency. She weaves this real world magic throughout her writing with grounded story-telling and poetic symbolism. For Aria, to be alive, is to be magical.
