Kate Fagerholm

Kate is a writer and consultant living in Portland, Oregon. She uses creative nonfiction and poetry to consider racial and ethnic identity, intergenerational connection and harm, political boundaries, rural experience, adoption, natural science, food justice, interdependence, different ways of knowing, cooking, and — you know — being human.

After a decade in the nonprofit sector, a degree in political science, several years in the public sector, and the launch of a small business, Kate is freshly focused on her creative practice that began in elementary school and was solidified when she studied English literature at the University of Iowa. She is a proud supporter of the Oxford Comma, throwing footballs, and singing karaoke with closed eyes.
