Vinisha Sedeso

Vinisha Sedeso is a Maryland-born first generation Caribbean-American. With strong roots in the islands Anguilla and Antigua yet growing up in the US, she works closely with the idea of intersectionality. She comes from a deeply woven legacy of crafters, writers, and musicians and holds these close within her multi-disciplinary performance and literary art. Volunteering in urban park conservation as a young adult and interning in sustainable agriculture instilled in her the desire to share her love of nature. This was a love cultivated between the woody east coast forests and brightly-colored sandy tropics of the Caribbean.

Sedeso is a student of Ayurvedic Medicine and Yoga at Maharishi International University. Exploring open-air spaces is a pillar of her work. Bringing life to the stillness and focused intention to the wildness is a layer of regeneration. These planted seeds began to bloom in her work when she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to expand her creative career.

Since then, she has produced a live adaptation of her 2019 book release "Speaking Fire at the Wellhead", with accompanied live music and contemporary movement, and two multi-disciplinary events for her newest project, "Poetry Won't Sit Still." A platform of a diverse selection of local and international artists curated to converse across mediums. Throughout her time in Atlanta, she has deepened her professional dance experience with glo ATL: southern women, artist-led intergenerational and multi-disciplined platform.
